What are the responsibilities and job description for the Virtual Design Construction Specialist position at Choate Construction Company?
The VDC Specialist position supports the efforts of the VDC manager's for each individual office. They are responsible for assisting the VDC Director and VDC Manager in the development, implementation, and supporting of VDC based initiatives and process for Preconstruction, Construction, and Field Management Groups.
As a key part of our project delivery process, you will assist with the creation of VDC scopes, contribute to the preconstruction and pursuit efforts with visuals, logistics, and support project teams with 3D coordination, constructability reviews, laser scanning, and drone usage. You will help the VDC Manager in driving innovation by piloting emerging technologies to support all Choate employees.
Skills, Qualification, and Experience:

Skills, Qualification, and Experience:
- One (1) to three (3) years experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Understanding of construction processes and coordination workflows.
- Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, Procore, and reality capture solutions (Drones, Laser Scanning, 360 Photography).
- Strong communicator with the ability to lead meetings and collaborate across disciplines.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for solving real world construction challenges with VDC based technology.
