The Role
As a Seasonal Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a key role in helping us bring our mission to life. This includes all tasks involved in testing and ensuring the food safety and quality of our finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and apply GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Perform ingredient and finished product sampling and laboratory testing to determine microbiological, chemical and physical characteristics of food products; including, but not limited to: ATP and allergen testing, Quantitative microbiological testing using petrifilm, Butterfat and total solids, Chemical concentration testing
- Perform quality checks of finished products, during and after their production; including, but not limited to, sensory analysis, temperature, inclusion rates, and weight checks
- Report any deviations to Management
- Verify laboratory scales and thermometers are within spec and record results
- Restock daily lab supplies, as needed
- Collect finished product retain samples, as required by co-pack customers
- Dispose of laboratory samples of finished products after they have been released from testing hold
- Conduct annual testing needed to fulfill regulatory requirements, such as water and air testing
- Assist with swabbing for Environmental Monitoring Program, as needed
- Assist with sending food safety and quality documentation to co-pack customers, as needed
- Assist with monitoring temperatures of coolers, freezers, and pasteurized mix
- Verify chemical concentrations of footbaths and sanitize solutions are within spec
- Record and maintain flawless laboratory data logs and records
- Maintain cleanliness of laboratory equipment and workspace
- Laboratory trash disposal and petrifilm autoclaving
About You
We’re looking for individuals who:
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Have punctual, predictable, and reliable attendance
- Are cooperative and able to take direction
- Have good teamwork skills
- Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Can follow safety protocols and work in a physically demanding environment
- Can ascend and descend a ladder
- Can remain in a stationary position (standing) 100% of shift.
- Can regularly lift ingredients and supplies weighing up to 75 lbs
- Can detect discrepancies in mix quality
- Can work independently on sampling and projects
Previous experience in dairy manufacturing/quality assurance is a plus, but your attitude and alignment with our values matter most.
