As a Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for maintaining payroll systems and processing paychecks according to schedule and in the correct amount. Their duties include consolidating timesheet information and entering data into payroll databases, calculating paycheck amounts, and distributing funds to employee accounts.
Type: Full Time – Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $25-30 per hour
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90048
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain payroll files in payroll system
- Run and Review reports and verify for accuracy before payroll is transmitted
- Produce manual checks when necessary
- Calculate and compile medical benefit deductions and other earnings
- Research and resolve employee payroll discrepancies
- Interact with employees and all levels of management on payroll related projects and inquiries
- Track and monitor field performance across key payroll elements
- Understand and interpret wage garnishments/child support/levies orders and process them accordingly
- Investigate, locate, and resolve the cause of misdirected checks. Update system or notify appropriate party of correction.
- Audit payroll for processing errors.
- Manage all timecards and time clock inquires
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Time keeping training
- Update clinician rates in EMR system
- Track all ad hoc reimbursements for W2, Per Diem, and 1099 Employees
- Manage data reporting on all payroll expenses
Must Have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in payroll administration & related industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Advanced analytical and research skills
- IT and systems sophistication – ability to gather/develop system needs and translate into functional specifications
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service regarding all payroll issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent clerical, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Strong attention to details with a proactive approach to solving and preventing problems
- Strong computer skills particularly in Excel, Word and Outlook
