Qualities of a Success Candidate :

A genuine love for working with children and a strong commitment to their holistic development. They should prioritize the child's individuality, independence, and self-directed learning, fostering an environment that supports these values.
The ability to guide children through their learning journey with patience, allowing them to explore and make discoveries at their own pace. They should also be flexible in adjusting their teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each child.
Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with children, parents and other staff members. They should be able to work collaboratively, promoting a harmonious learning environment.

As the MTSS Coordinator your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following :

Accepts responsibility for the achievement of students.

Guides the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals and implementation of personal learning plans of students.

Uses resources effectively to support learning activities in the classroom, the Academy, and the community.

Administers standardized and local assessments while maintaining a high level of testing integrity.

Teacher Leadership (preferred completion of Cabarrus County Schools' program)

Implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Responsiveness to Instruction.

Coaching staff through hard conversations; Using the problem-solving model.

Facilitating a team-lead functional behavior assessment and designing evidence-based intervention plans.

Collecting survey data from staff, students, and parents.

Participating in a School Improvement Planning process; Implementing universals as PBIS

Developing, leading, implementing, monitoring, and collaborating with other educators in the schoolwide integration of MTSS

Communicating with parents and working on the Management Team, Data Teams, and Problem-Solving Teams to implement the MTSS model which includes RTI and PBIS approaches coaching and training colleagues on MTSS implementation.

Managing, analyzing, and utilizing student data (i.e., scoring probes, scheduling data collection, using collected data to drive student support)

Training and ongoing coaching to school leadership teams and teachers on the MTSS framework

Working to develop, implement, and sustain our MTSS framework.

Analyzing and utilizing student and teacher data with our School-Wide Information System (SWIS) to guide data-based decision making and enhance direct instruction.

Reviewing and updating student codes of conduct.

Supporting teachers in identifying student needs.

Assumes responsibility for the orderliness and safety of the learning environment and

the appropriate and safe use of instructional facilities and equipment.

Essential Skills and Competencies : While we will consider a broad range of backgrounds, the ideal candidate would have the following qualifications / experience :

Minimum Requirements :

Valid Michigan teaching certificate with endorsements in appropriate grade and subject levels, meeting the highly qualified requirements of No Child Left Behind Act.

Demonstrated competence as a teacher in all areas of focus.

Able to use technology as an instructional tool in the classroom, as a means of analyzing academic achievement data, and as a tool to aid effective communications.

Excellent verbal and written expression using proper grammar and exemplary work habits verified by previous employers.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications :

Knowledge and skills working with At-Risk Students.
