Director of Development, Non-Profit.
CHOICES Institute of Women’s Health is looking for our first ever Director of Development. In this role, you’ll create and execute strategies to secure funding, engage donors, and foster relationships to support our mission.
About the role:
As our Director of Development, you’ll manage a portfolio of donors with appropriate outreach, stewardship, and solicitation strategies, including personalized communications, phone calls, in-person meetings and networking at fundraising and cultivation events. You’ll work with media consultants to develop and update marketing materials, our website, and social media for cultivation of donations and non-profit awareness, while preparing and submitting compelling grant proposals, grant reports, and other funding requests to secure financial support for our Pro-Choice, Pro-Women mission.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about woman’s health, someone who shares our goal of restoring fundamental human and civil rights that were stripped away as a result of the calamitous 2022 Supreme Court Dobbs decision. We need someone with a sense of urgency, a person who has experience building and working with a Board of Directors, and knows how to fundraise from low-level, mid-level, and major donors.
Requirements:
· 3 years of similar Non-Profit experience.
· A strong background in public relations and event planning.
· Experience in events management, proposal writing, grant writing and foundation management.
· A demonstrated history of successful donor engagement and revenue generation.
Preferences:
· A degree in business, public relations, healthcare, or similar field.
· Experience using donor and foundation research software such as DonorSearch, Foundation Center, Raisers Edge, or Wealth Engine.
· You’re comfortable in an external facing role, with experience in public speaking.
