What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Manager position at Chopt Creative Salad Company?
We’re looking for a driven, detail-oriented individual to fill the Construction Project Manager role at Founders Table. This position is an integral part of the Development Team and supports the planning, execution, and delivery of new restaurant openings (NROs) for our growing brands: Chopt & Dos Toros. This role will report directly to the Director of Construction. The Construction Project Manager will work closely with the other functions of the Development Team (Real Estate, Design, and Facilities), while collaborating with the wider business on construction activities, timelines, and deliverables.
What you’ll do as the Construction Project Manager:
- Execute new restaurant opening (NRO) construction projects for the Founders Table pipeline
- Drive construction activities to ensure NROs are delivered to the Operations Team on-time and on-budget
- Hold contractors, vendors, and design consultants accountable to deliverables to ensure project schedules and budgets remain on-track throughout construction
- Manage a total of 15-20 NRO projects per year simultaneously ranging from interior tenant fitout to ground-up projects in both urban and suburban environments for multiple restaurant concepts (Chopt, Dos Toros, etc.)
- Manage all aspects of the construction management process including pre-construction activities & project kickoff preparation, schedule & budget management, weekly project calls, change order review & approval, and project closeout activities
- Engage with Landlords and property managers to understand site-specific construction fitout rules & regulations, challenges, and required vendors
- Ensure GCs efficiently and effectively closeout all punch items prior to handover of the restaurant to the Operations Team
- Maintain, forecast, and update construction project budgets for all NROs
- Coordinate with local utility providers for new service applications, upgrades, and meters as required for NRO construction
- Propose improvements to the construction process to accelerate timelines and/or reduce project costs
- Establish, maintain, and develop relationships with all GCs and recommend contractors for future NRO projects
- Ensure timely receipt of all project closeout documentation, including final lien waivers, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and tenant improvement allowance requests
- Travel to project locations for site visits with GCs and vendors to monitor construction progress and completion
- Communicate with the development team and wider organization on construction activities, budgets, and timelines for cross-functional NRO coordination
- Any other activities to support NRO development and/or capex projects as requested by the Director of Construction
What you’ll need to succeed in this Position:

- A deep understanding of the construction process, including managing project schedules, budgets, change orders, submittals, RFIs
- Very strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel; experience with G Suite (Google Drive, Docs, etc.) is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; conversational or fluent communication skills in Spanish is a plus
- A bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, or similar field preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role managing construction or similar projects
What you should know about this Role:
- This role requires collaboration and coordination with our wider development team and will be expected to work from our NYC office in Union Square at least 3 days per week
- Expect a moderate amount of travel to attend site meetings, which will include overnight trips
- Standard working hours for this position are weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM but occasional communication (phone calls, emails, and messages) will be required outside these hours
Salary between $110,000-$140,000, commensurate with experience

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
