Job Summary
The Plastics Process Engineer at Chore-Time plays a critical role in enhancing and automating manufacturing processes to optimize output. This position requires coordination, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and layouts/expansions to continually meet company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and perform optimization of manufacturing processes as it relates to machinery, molds, and tooling to enhance output while staying within budget and timelines.
- Write process instructions for cell groups with the Engineering team, ensuring they have been reviewed and validated to meet equipment and tooling standards.
- Troubleshoot and implement best practice solutions to equipment/tooling obstacles with Maintenance and Product Managers to maximize output while meeting budget and downtime constraints.
- Review how machines operate and plant layout on a consistent basis, working with Maintenance and Engineering departments, to optimize areas.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and other team members to maximize continuous improvement projects and new product development processes that meet cost and delivery times.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering Technology, Plastics Manufacturing, or similar field with concentration in plastics processing preferred.
- Experience: 0-3 years of experience/understanding in plastics processing within an injection molding manufacturing environment preferred.
- Solid planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills. Also requires solid math, analytical, and problem-solving skills to effectively enhance manufacturing areas.
- Technical Aptitude/PC/Other: Intermediate Microsoft Office experience required. A working knowledge of ERP Systems and familiarity with 6S and Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
- Language Skills: Solid business writing and communication skills, with the ability to present to others.
