The Chowchilla Union High School District comprises a comprehensive four year academic high school, Chowchilla Union High School, a continuation school, Gateway Continuation, and an Independent Study program. Three school districts serve the overall student population for Chowchilla and the surrounding area, including Alview-Dairyland Union School District (ADUSD) and Chowchilla Elementary School District (CESD), which both feed students into the Chowchilla Union High School District programs. Both ADUSD and CESD are K-8 programs.
The City of Chowchilla has a population of roughly 19,000 people including the population of two correctional facilities; one for men (Valley State Prison) and one for women (Central California Women's Facility). Both facilities are located outside of Chowchilla.
The City of Chowchilla is still very much considered an agricultural town by virtue of its location, which is completely surrounded by farmland and dairies. Chowchilla has families that range from economically wealthy to very poor. Student free and reduced lunches have averaged 67.2% of the student population over the last 6 years.
The Chowchilla Union High School District is governed by a 5 member board that is elected by voter trustee areas. Current board members and the dates of their first service are : Mike Cargill (2002), Pat DeWall (2008), Charlene Espinola (1998), Joe Botelho (2020), and Brandon Moore (2020). These 5 board members truly have the philosophy of doing what is in the best interest of the students first and foremost.

Job Summary
As parent liaisons, staff would be responsible for recruiting and retaining parent attendance to each weekly meeting occurring over a series of seven Mondays from 6 pm-8 pm along with a weekend campus visit on Saturday to a university. Workshops are hosted in both English and Spanish. Therefore, one staff member will need to be fluent / biliterate in English and another in Spanish. Parents are to receive weekly phone call invitations / emails / messages as reminders to keep them attending sessions. Dinner and child care is provided for parents. As such, a third staff member is needed to help support the child care room and care for younger children. Supplies / games are provided by district to entertain children during sessions. Parent liaisons are also expected to attend the workshops along with the parents every week.
Parent liaisons will be provided lists of students with parent information and phone numbers to recruit and remind parents. Staff is expected to track calls on the provided list and make weekly contact with parents via phone, email, and ParentSquare as necessary. These duties would be compensated and tracked after daily contracted hours.

Three positions are needed for this overtime / extra duty opportunity each having different requirements :
1. One staff member to be fluent / biliterate in English
2. One staff member to be fluent / biliterate in Spanish
3. One staff member to support child care room and care for younger children.
