About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Controller to oversee and improve our financial operations. This role is ideal for someone with a forensic mindset, strong auditing skills, and the ability to identify and close gaps in financial systems. The Controller will play a critical role in assessing our current financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and leading the transition to a new financial leadership structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct forensic analysis of financial records to identify inconsistencies, errors, or inefficiencies.
- Audit and reconcile financial statements, accounts, and transactions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Identify gaps in the financial system and implement solutions to enhance financial reporting and controls.
- Manage and optimize QuickBooks and Method (CRM) for financial tracking and reporting.
- Ensure all financial processes align with industry regulations and company policies.
- Work closely with leadership to assess and transition financial responsibilities.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain accountability and transparency in financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar role.
- Strong expertise in forensic accounting, auditing, and financial system improvement.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with Method (CRM).
- Experience in the wine industry or a similar product-driven industry is a plus.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a confidential and accountable environment.
