Facilities Manager | Christ United Methodist Church – Franklin, TN
Position: Hourly Full-time ($22 per hour)
Reports to: Business Administrator
Work Location: In person

Job Summary
The Facilities Manager is a member of the church staff. As a staff member, the Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance of the building and grounds. In order of priority, the primary expectations of this position are:
1. Custodial: to maintain the attractiveness and general cleanliness of the church building and grounds.
2. Maintenance: semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical (work not requiring a licensed professional) on an as needed basis.
3. Set-up: to stage furniture, equipment, and elements needed for church events and activities on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
· The ability to proactively identify custodial needs and work independently.
· The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects.
· The ability to establish and follow a facilities cleaning and maintenance schedule (weekly, monthly, etc.)
- A working familiarity with basic custodial equipment and knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies and the ability to use tools, products and machinery to clean floors, carpets, windows, etc.
- The ability to understand and carry out instructions given in written, oral or diagram form.
· The ability to work in collaboration with other church staff members and volunteers.
· Reliability, attention to detail, and the willingness to conduct oneself in a manner befitting a church environment.
· Must pass a background check.
Responsibilities:
- Work with other staff members to prioritize tasks.
- Help maintain HVAC schedule calendar for building use.
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities, and coordinate outside repair and installation vendors.
- Stock and maintain supply rooms.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain all building facilities; gather and empty trash and dispose of recycled materials.
- Replace and/or repair ceiling tiles and suspended ceiling elements when needed.
- Replace and/or repair lighting and electrical elements (fixtures, bulbs, dimmer switches, wall sockets, etc.) when needed.
- Perform the necessary staging, set-up, locking/unlocking doors, take-down, and clean-up for scheduled meetings, activities, and events.
- Assist in building security, lock/unlock entrances and turn on and off all lights.
Experience: Prior building maintenance, light carpentry and/or custodial services preferred.
Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) certificate, or equivalent experience. Previous facilities management, custodial, or maintenance experience a plus.
