Automotive Technician/Mechanic Job Description
We are seeking energetic and upbeat technicians/mechanics with a positive attitude who can solve tough problems and have a strong passion for doing what's right for our guests.
The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Diagnose and fix vehicles for our guests using their knowledge and skills.
- Continuously build experience as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
- Work as part of a team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively.
- Follow and promote our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Work closely with the service department and effectively communicate concerns.
- Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results.
To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- A positive attitude and a desire to serve our guests.
- At least 3 years of experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
- ASE certifications preferred or a plan to achieve them.
- The ability to diagnose and repair all makes/models of vehicles.
- The capacity to meet or exceed hourly goals.
- An aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.
- A professional appearance and strong communication skills.
- A desire for long-term career development.
The physical requirements of this job include:
- Occasionally lifting and/or moving over 100 pounds.
- Working with tools on vehicles lifted above their head.
- Working in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair.
- Having the necessary dexterity to efficiently use hand tools.
- Walking/standing for the majority of their workday.
- Driving manual transmission vehicles.
- Efficiently navigating a computer.
