Christian Brothers Services is a nonprofit organization that administers cooperative programs in the areas of health, retirement, property/casualty, technology, school management and consulting services to church organizations.
Our IT division has internship positions available.
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Duties:
- Using established working procedures, install, configure and maintaining desktop, laptop, IPAD, IPhone, monitors, phones and peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners and wireless devices. Create and maintaining up to date operating systems and sofware images and deploy to all devices. Yearly review to ensure current version of software is up to date and hardware is still meeting standards for performance. Maintain an inventory of hardware, software, managing software licensing and documenting policies and procedures for deployment and upgrade. Analyze and make recommendations for hardware and software standardization. Create user accounts and manage access control based on company policies.
- Help Desk - Taking initial phone call, email or walk-up inquiries and troubleshooting hardware, software or network problem. Using Ticket database, log call activity. Escalating problem if necessary and informing management. Monthly, analyze and identify trends in issue reporting by reviewing the Ticket & Incident databases. Present preventive solutions to Supervisor or Manager. Support/train users in basic functions of computer and other topics as necessary. Complete these tasks according to ITS SLA.
- Maintain procedural and equipment documentation and prepare monthly reports. Complete these tasks according to CBS & ITS policies, procedures and SLA's.
- Become familiar with company applications software in order to provide training and support to existing and new users, including troubleshooting. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of computer operating procedures and hardware.
- Move computer equipment, Audit asset database and correct information, Works with vendors to properly dispose of excess computer inventory and complete these tasks according to CBS & ITS policies, procedures and SLA's.
- Support/train users in basic functions of computer and other topics as necessary.
- Other projects as assigned by Managing Director and Computer Operations Manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Student applicants must have completed their sophomore year of college prior to the start of the internship (i.e. you must be an incoming college Junior or Senior)
- Strong working knowledge of PC hardware,software and network connections. Associate's degree, professional certification or one to five years hands on experience of working with PC hardware and software.

Must possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of systems hardware and software.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills, along with patience, a positive, customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Must be self motivated and directed with strong organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
