Job Summary
Live-in Youth Mentoring Specialist
Provide the foundation of a family environment for young men in residence by fulfilling a parental role and providing supervision. Married couples are welcome to apply.
Ideally, the role of house parent would be filled by someone with a passion to serve at-risk youth. The position requires a willingness to reside in the home with up to 8 teenage boys and act as a parental figure, walking them through daily routines and providing guidance and care. The house parent will provide supervision overnight and during assigned shifts, and assist in activity planning and execution.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 care and support to youth in need, including:
- Meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, and hygiene
- Providing transportation and assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitoring and responding to youth's physical and emotional needs.
- Provide proper supervision throughout assigned shifts and overnight.
- Conduct family style evenings three times per week
- Work with youth to develop life skills, such as budgeting, time management, and meal preparation.
- Model a healthy family atmosphere that includes activities that engage a wide variety of personalities and interests.
- Weekly meal and menu planning with input of residents
- Provide mentorship and spiritual guidance to youth, helping the youth to reach their full potential.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and clean environment for youth.
- Model a healthy, loving family environment in the home.
- Demonstrate an ability to implement rules, routines, and boundaries in a caring, understanding fashion.
- Handle conflict in a productive manner.
- Engage in healthy recreation with the residents.
- Provide transportation for residents as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
- Perform other program duties as scheduled.

- High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
- TCI certification prior to employment
- Ministry or social work experience STRONGLY preferred.
- Must have a valid and current state driver’s license.
- Criminal background check - Fingerprinting through the Arkansas Bureau of Investigation and FBI
- DCS Abuse/Maltreatment Registry Check
- Local Law Enforcement Check
- DOH Vulnerable Persons Abuse Registry (VPAR)
- National Sex Offender Registry Check
- Any other background checks required by DCS
