What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ministry Support position at Christian Fellowship of Columbia?
We are currently looking to hire a full-time Ministry Support for Christian Fellowship Church.
The primary responsibility of this position is to care for the needs of our church members and attenders who contact the office by connecting them to the resources, staff members, and other tools they need. The secondary responsibility of this position is to serve and to assist the pastors, ministry leaders, and administrators of the church in accomplishing the day-to-day tasks of running the office.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
· Follower of Jesus Christ
· Member or Attender of Christian Fellowship Church
· High school diploma or GED required
· Experience in an office environment and/or customer service preferred
· Both personable and organized
· Able to establish priorities and manage time
· Can work independently within a team environment
· Demonstrates aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn our database system, event scheduling platform, and other computer applications
· Flexibility to adapt to changing environment and staff assignments
Work Schedule: Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and some flex time to include Wednesday evenings as needed. Start date is December 1, 2024.
Staff assigned roles: Fulfillment of assigned roles will generate various tasks to be performed. Tasks are simply the outworking of your roles. Below are your specific roles and examples of tasks associated with those roles. This is not an exhaustive task list. They shall include but are not limited to these tasks.
1) Administrative Oversight
a) Oversight of calendar
b) Oversight of church database
2) Office Support - Receptionist
a) Open and close office daily
b) Answer phones
c) Receive and sort incoming mail, deliver outgoing mail
d) Oversee office supplies
e) Maintain office equipment
f) Coordinate Office Hospitality
g) Oversee look and organization of public spaces and guest gifts
3) Pastoral Care Support
a) Triage pastoral care needs
b) Communicate with pastoral care team
c) Send prayer requests to teams
d) Guest Reports
e) Administrative support to Pastoral Care Team Members
f) Prepare and send Certificates and photos for baptisms, baby dedications, and new member inductions
4) Ministry Support
a) Support all-church activities and events
b) Coordinate Green Room Hospitality for Sunday morning services
c) Coordinate Van Ministry and schedule volunteers
d) Coordinate Intercessory Prayer Team and schedule volunteers
e) Coordinate seat pocket volunteers and schedule - fill in if no one is scheduled
f) Support staff and assist with items as needed and as time allows (run errands, order books, make copies, etc.)
g) Assist participants in signing up and getting connected to ministry opportunities
h) Participate in team meetings, staff meetings, and other meetings as requested
i) Determine supply needs, and other miscellaneous needs of a class or event (name tags, special chairs, printed and bound books, live music, attendance sheets, print outs for leader, all needs vary based on event)
j) Meet all the needs, big and small, and make sure everyone feels supported
The starting pay for this position is $16/hour. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits.
