Job Summary:
We are seeking a responsible and caring School Aftercare Aide to join our team. The Aftercare Aide will assist in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students in our after-school program. This role includes supervising children, facilitating activities, assisting with homework, and ensuring a positive and structured atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students in the aftercare program.
- Organize and lead recreational and educational activities, including arts and crafts, games, and group projects.
- Assist students with homework and provide guidance as needed.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce program rules in a fair and consistent manner.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student progress and concerns.
- Ensure that supplies, equipment, and activity spaces are kept clean and organized.
- Follow all school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and supportive aftercare environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Follower of Jesus Christ.
- Be in agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.
- Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, integrity, courtesy, flexibility, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, punctuality, confidentiality, personal appearance (modesty), and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God’s Biblical standards for sexual conduct.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in education or child development preferred.
- Experience working with children in a school, daycare, or aftercare setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and structured atmosphere for students.
- Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with school policies.
- Be physically able to navigate our school and playground area.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-time position, Monday through Friday during after-school hours (3:30 to 5:45pm).
- Compensation: $15/hour.
