We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time LTC Quality Regulatory Standards RN to join the Heritage Manor nursing department. The LTC Quality & Regulatory Standards nurse is assigned the responsibility/accountability for coordination of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process. Primary responsibility is to provide ongoing support, instruction, and leadership to meet and exceed all regulatory standards, and to ensure ongoing readiness for annual NJ department of health (DOH) audit. Works with leadership to respond to and coordinate investigations by the DOH and other external regulatory agencies. Responsible for quality improvement and performance improvement process. Competencies:
- Facilitates/coordinates regulatory activities throughout credited programs. Collaborates with staff physicians and administration to ensure successful regulatory surveys. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
- Supports leadership meetings related to survey readiness and provides regular readiness reports. Functions as Chair of the QAPI Committee. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
- Coordinates the system level regulatory readiness process; monitors and acts on system level readiness reports from enterprise wide readiness software. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
- Assures survey readiness through the implementation of a continuous survey readiness program. Communicates regulatory activities with team members and staff. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
- Remains current with regulatory standards to assume ongoing compliance. Demonstrates a solid understanding and knowledge of the QAPI processes, DOH state licensure regulations and other regulatory agencies. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
- Coordinates and facilitates DOH related survey readiness. (ESSENTIAL; DAILY)
- Participates in DOH annual audit for CH via detailed preparation, engaging in mock survey activities, and facilitating follow-up of corrections and recommendations. (ESSENTIAL; QUARTERLY)
- Monitors staff compliance to DOH regulatory standards. (ESSENTIAL; WEEKLY)
- Demonstrates knowledge of the continuous quality improvement and performance improvement process and has broad knowledge of patient safety issues. (ESSENTIAL; QUARTERLY)
- Develops and implements entity wide training to maintain compliance with DOH and other regulatory standards. (ESSENTIAL; MONTHLY)
- Assures the development of organizational compliance review and monitoring activities. Conducts audits to ensure compliance. (ESSENTIAL; MONTHLY)
- Makes recommendations and implements change to organizational processes based on findings of the compliance review. (ESSENTIAL; QUARTERLY)
- Assesses practice and reviews content of policies and procedures to assure compliance with standards. (ESSENTIAL; ANNUALLY)
- Assures the development of performance improvement initiatives. Conducts audits to ensure quality performance. (ESSENTIAL; MONTHLY)
Schedule: Full time, 9am-5pm, Monday – Friday; alternate hours (evening, weekend, and holidays) may be scheduled as needed.
Education:
- BSN required.
- Masterʼs in nursing or related health care field highly preferred with 3 to 5 years QAPI experience.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
- Certified in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.
- Prior experience with performance improvement and regulatory compliance in a health care setting.
- DOH audit survey preparation experience and maintenance of standards required.
