We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Security Supervisor to join our Risk Management & Safety department. The Security Supervisor will work under the direction and alongside the Director of Safety and Security as an additional point of contact for all safety and security matters in protecting life and property of all persons on Christian Health premises and patrols Christian Health buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism. Secures, unlocks and protects Christian Health buildings. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.
Competencies:
- Work closely with HR in issuing new hire identification badges in a timely manner, terminating those no longer employed, which require handling both The Vista and main campuses systems.
- Maintain the Security main campus schedule, including coverage for call-outs and submission of PTO.
- Timekeeper for the Security Department, as the Director of Safety & Security will approve all overtime and sign off on the departmentʼs payroll.
- Work a modified schedule, which will allow for flexibility when needed to assist in emergencies and drills.
- Respond to emergencies and cover meals during the main portion of the workday.
- Provide field training for all new hires in Security in the future.
- The secondary point of contact when the Director is not available.
- Orients new personnel to position responsibilities.
- Enforce on campus parking regulations such as Parking in fire zone, handicap parking, visitor parking, Fleet parking and any non parking area.
- Patrols buildings and grounds; and inspects doors, windows, and locks to determine level of security.
- Escorts visitors, patients and personnel to and from parking areas.
- Patrols parking areas to detect any irregularities. Inspects outgoing parcels as necessary to prevent theft of Christian Health property.
- Provides a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities by patrolling the buildings and grounds of Christian Health. Responds quickly and effectively to emergent and non emergent situations.
- Reports all safety and fire hazards observed on routine patrols and inspections to Director Safety and Security.
- Monitors Christian Health using electronic security equipment (closed-circuit television, alarms, etc.).
- Reports and receives instructions and updates from Director Safety and Security and when necessary to the maintenance evening shift Supervisor.
- Writes accurate, clear and legible incident reports and documents investigatory steps and results.
- Investigates incidents of unusual circumstances reported by Christian Health personnel, visitors, physicians or patients and reports and documents all incidents, verbally or through general incident form, by the end of each shift.
- Notifies Administration receptionists when items reported as missing are located.
- Assists motorists who become stranded on Christian Health property.
- Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted onto Christian Health premises.
- Communicates daily (Monday - Friday) with the Director Safety and Security and as needed the maintenance evening shift supervisor or standby supervisor (SS) regarding any unusual situations.
- Responds to emergency calls for assistance to control disorderly conduct or combative patients.
- Assists and gives courteous responses to any inquiries made by patients, visitors or personnel.
- Responds to all emergency codes.
- Enforces all Christian Health policies and procedures as assigned by Administration, the Director Safety and Security.
- Works with Director Safety and Security to report any safety concerns observed during the course of security rounds.
- Assists the police department and other Emergency services on campus.
- Ensures authorized people access the main Commons entrance from 6am to 8am weekdays and 6am – 9am weekends.
- Covers gap before Director Safety and Security arrival. Covers gaps when Director Safety and Security is offsite at Siena, Summerhill, CH ADS Wayne, or other work related events.
- Increases patrol of campus and interior of building.
- Increases speeding enforcement.
- Emergency response – Primary responder.
- Assists visitors and vendors with directions.
- Helps ensure visitors and vendors have signed in and wearing appropriate badge.
- Assists with Fire and Emergency drills.
Schedule: Full-time 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday - Friday.
Education: High School Diploma; or equivalent.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
Qualifications:
- Five years experience in the field of security management; or equivalent combination of education and experience; one to two years in a supervisory capacity.
- Criminal justice background with traffic control experience preferred.
- A valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing.
- Must attend crisis de-escalation.
