Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Assistant Director to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the overall management of our child care program, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to implement curriculum, manage staff, and foster positive relationships with families and the community. They will also work as a lead teacher in an infant/toddler classroom.
Duties
- Assist in the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum that promotes childhood development.
- Supervise daily operations of the child care facility, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards.
- Support staff in providing high-quality care and education for children, including infants and toddlers.
- Foster an inclusive environment for children with disabilities and special needs, ensuring all children receive appropriate support.
- Conduct regular assessments of children's progress and development, maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with families to address their concerns and provide resources for child development.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment conducive to learning and play.
- Train and mentor staff in best practices for caregiving, first aid procedures, and emergency response.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in childhood development or related fields such as preschool education or special education.
- Previous experience working with children in various capacities (e.g., babysitting, caregiving).
- Knowledge of best practices for toddler care and early childhood education.
- Familiarity with working with students who have disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating leadership qualities.
- A passion for nurturing children's growth and development in a supportive setting.
- Must have at least an associates degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
