What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application and Credentaling Specalist position at Christian Medical & Dental Society?
Christian Medical & Dental Associations, the world’s largest faith-based organization of healthcare professionals, is seeking a full-time Application and Credentialing Specialist to work with our Global Health Outreach (GHO) ministry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for aspects of GHO that will make short-term mission trips possible and successful including credentials, monitoring team composition and urgent needs, overseeing the documentation process, responding to inquiries by phone and email, and accurate documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process all mission trip applications.
- Collect all trip documentation and monitor any outstanding items to ensure submission of all documentation prior to the credentialing deadline.
- Provide assistance with participants having issues with passport renewals, obtaining credentialing documentation, and/or the application process.
- Ensure appropriate forms are submitted and completed correctly for all minor applicants and copies are forwarded to the team leader.
- Monitor email boxes; respond to requests within 24 hours and/or forward them to the appropriate person/department.
- Courteously answer GHO general phone calls daily; respond to voicemail messages within 24 hours.
- Consistently monitor team composition and assist the Program Coordinator with assembling balanced teams.
- Send reminders to team leaders regarding setting up medical directors, dental directors, etc.
- Maintain GHO Weekly Report.
- Distribute the latest edition of the Medical Handbook to required participants on a weekly basis.
- Distribute Dental and Pharmacy Handbooks to required participants on a weekly basis.
- Obtain Apostilles when required by Ministry of Health, ensuring enough time has been allotted to meet credentialing deadlines.
- Scan photos for GHO teams’ pictorial directory.
- Ensure trip folders are filed appropriately: create folders for new participants, folders should be in trip location until charged, then filed by name.
- Update the credentialing instruction spreadsheet as new destinations are added or as information changes.
- Assist the Program Coordinator with trip fee collections when necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Character compatible with the purposes, practices and values of CMDA
- A heart for missions
- High school diploma
- Ability to compose and edit letters and other forms of written communication
- Proven organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in PC word processing, spreadsheet and database application programs, specifically Microsoft Office
- Understanding of basic accounting procedures and ability to enter data accurately
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and pay attention to details
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience on short-term missions or other mission experience
- Experience in office administration
