What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Specalist Intern position at Christian Medical & Dental Society?
Christian Medical & Dental Associations, the world’s largest faith-based organization of healthcare professionals, is seeking an IT Specialist Intern. The IT Specialist Intern will work directly with onsite and remote CMDA staff to address and troubleshoot technical issues related to workstations and laptops, monitors, network printers and desktop printers, connectivity issues to network, such as shared drives and VPN. All while maintaining CMDA’s Vision, Missions and Core Values.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the Service Desk for tickets submitted related to IT hardware, email, software, and miscellaneous tickets that are submitted.
- Patch Management – Monitor Datto, RMM, to ensure patches and updates are being pushed out and installed on desktop computers, laptop computers and servers. Addressing any issues presented in the RMM.
- Monitor SentinelOne for viruses, malware and other notifications.
- Ability to follow guidelines for computer setup, user account creation, and other accounts as needed.
- Assist other IT staff in providing local and remote support for CMDA staff (onsite and field) on computers, applications, & equipment.
- Assist IT Manager in overflow workload situations.
- Other tasks that directly or indirectly affect end-users ability to perform their job, such as monitors, cables, 3rd party software, etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Show critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Be enrolled in accredited IT/Computer Science Program or Certificate Program.
- Strong communication skills – email, phone, and in person.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle end users with grace and humility.
- A team player willing to help where needed in the IT Department.
- Willingness and aptitude to grow knowledge of the systems noted within the job duties and other skills and knowledge within the IT Department.
- Physically able to move up to 50 lbs., bend and move as necessary to complete tasks related to IT position.
