Summary : The Youth Service Coordinator position is responsible for ensuring the coordination and provision of all residential based case management services. This position will work as the liaison between St. John Bosco Children’s center staff and the case carrying agency of all youth admitted to SJBCC; will work to ensure that all requirements of the Family First Act are provided and followed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field with at least two years experience in casework, clinical or direct services with children; demonstrated ability for Social Services and Casework management; and qualify for Mental Health Professional under Illinois Department of Mental Health Rule 132.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to write all required documents with the appropriate spelling, grammar, and structure necessary for documents submitted to courts.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS :
Strong computer proficiencies are essential; must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as database programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Required to drive agency vehicles and transport clients. Should be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to complete TCI Training. On an as need basis, should be able to assist in manual restraint of clients and hands on interventions related to assisting in securing a child in a seclusion room.
