Christie Clinic's department of Endocrinology in Bloomington on Empire is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative from Monday-Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include greeting clinic patients upon arrival, assisting with the check in process, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and assisting with the checkout or rescheduling process. They will serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Duties will also include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
- Provide check-in process for patients.
- Verify and update necessary demographic information. Apply co-payments, as needed.
- Register new patients and address any financial issues regarding that patient.
- Collect co-pays and payments as needed.
- Maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness.
- Keep a neat and orderly work and lobby area.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment. Clean and restock following appointment.
- Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight, and height of patient. Enter information into the electronic medical record.
- Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.
- Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.
- Perform point of care testing as directed by provider.
- Perform related work as required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
