What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning & Development Specialist position at Christie Clinic?
Christie Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Specialist for our Learning and Development department. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, providing administrative support for, and delivering programs to Christie Clinic team members. Additional responsibilities will include developing content and materials for training programs, performing regular, on-going training for current team members and assisting in competency-based training and testing. This team member will work closely with all levels of leadership to identify training needs and develop solutions to those needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organized, detail oriented and ability to take initiative required.
Excellent computer skills in Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; SharePoint and Camtasia strongly preferred, experience in educational setting and developing learning materials such as instructional and job aids required.
Responsibilities:
- Recommend, design, implement, administer, and regularly update the ongoing education, orientation, and training programs for Christie Clinic team members. This may include, but is not limited to, new team member orientation, CPR, and soft skills training (such as customer service, teambuilding, personal accountability, etc.).
- Provide administrative support for training events and programs, such as coordinating details with instructors, scheduling and advertising events, enrolling team members, preparing materials, and communicating post-course information for training events.
- Work with Directors, Managers, and Coordinators to identify training needs and provide solutions to those needs.
- Assist in competency-based training, testing, and auditing.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of training events and programs.
- Provide training support to team members via phone, email and onsite.
- Track and maintain team member training records.
- Maintain training websites, software programs, etc.
- Participate in professional educational development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Perform related work as required.
