Christie Clinic's department of ENT is seeking a PRN Scribe. Duties include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment. Accompanying the physician during the office visit to record complete documentation of each patient’s history, review of systems, the physical examination, assessment, and plan performed by the physician.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment. Clean and restock following appointment.
- Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight and height of patient. Enter information into the electronic medical record.
- Review online transcriptions prior to patient appointment.
- Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.
- Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.
- Assist with procedures during appointment.
- Accompany the physician into examination rooms for all patient visits. As the physician interviews the patient, listen and enter the information into the electronic medical record.
- Print medication list from electronic medical record to update during patient appointment.
- Enter requests for laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications into the electronic medical record.
- Document any procedures performed by the physician in the electronic medical record.
- Enter any consultations or discussions with family and/or patient’s primary physician.
- Review and edit patient documentation.
- Discuss general patient issues or medication refills with provider and contact patient back the same day with response.
- Call medication refills in to appropriate venue.
- Assist with all receptionist duties as needed.
- Perform chart preparation for the next day.
- Perform related work as required.
