The Controller is responsible for the accounting, finance and financial planning functions of the company, including oversight of financial reporting and audits, budgeting/forecasting, treasury and tax operations and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
· Month-End Closing: Coordinate and execute the month-end closing process for multiple companies, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. This may require extended hours during month-end periods.
· Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
· Audit Support: Coordinate and facilitate external audits, addressing auditor inquiries and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
· Tax Compliance: Oversee tax compliance and reporting activities, collaborating with external tax advisors.
· Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to optimize financial resources.
· Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
· Budget Management: Manage the budgeting process and monitor expenses to ensure adherence to financial plans.
· Technological Orientation: Drive efficiencies by leveraging system capabilities and steering process improvements.
Required Experience/Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
· CPA, public accounting experience preferred.
· Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), as well as MicroSoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc).
· Minimum 6 years progressive related experience.
· Excellent proficiency and aptitude in systems, including writing financial reports and working with data in databases to resolve issues and generate reports; excellent Excel skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Highly organized and detail oriented.
