RESIDENTIAL COACH - Full-Time (M-W-F 6am-2pm & Sat/Sun 2pm-10pm)

SUMMARY:
The Residential Coach has compassion and empathy for our vulnerable population and adheres to the holistic and therapeutic approach while overseeing duties
related to the functioning of our residential program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for maintaining a therapeutic and welcoming residential environment during assigned shift.
• Adheres to program rules in accordance to the Residential Manual, CARF standards and Chrysalis House’s policy and procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring the safety of our clients at all times.
• Plans and monitors client recreational activities, phone calls, visitors, etc.
• Responsible for mentoring clients - explaining client boundaries, house rules and house operations while maintaining boundaries.
• Responsible for transporting clients as needed.
• Maintains chemical log, vehicle mileage log, and inventory logs for respective shift.
• Responsible for the documentation, reporting, and follow up for any situation or emergency.
• Oversight and client location management, ensuring client whereabouts.
• Must be available to work on call when required.
• In order to maintain 24-hour facility supervision, may be scheduled to work holidays, and/or provide additional coverage during inclement weather, overnights, or weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• A High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience as Residential Coach or working in a residential setting
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with varying forms of substances abuse
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must demonstrate understanding of special treatment needs of women with substance abuse in a residential treatment setting and show evidence of empathy, sensitivity, and maturity.
• Must demonstrate highest professional ethical standards and adhere to Chrysalis House Core Values and Code of Ethics.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
