Position Summary:
Provides the Treatment Foster Care program with day to day task and operational support. The TFC Case Assistant assists the team members in the program with such tasks as: placement coordination, ongoing supportive service delivery, outcome tracking, and case file maintenance in a manner consistent with accepted social work practices and agency program definitions.
Position Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent. Associate Degree in Human Services or Bachelor Degree preferred.
- One year of experience working with children and families required.
- Requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, personal auto liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the CHHS auto insurance carrier. Must use personal vehicle to travel to foster homes in the community
- Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities with varying deadlines, and be flexible to accept other responsibilities as assigned and as the position demands.
- Child welfare knowledge; and experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
- A working knowledge of child development and issues facing special needs children is preferred
- Ability to work as a member of a treatment team, but also independently with good organizational skills
- The position requires good written skills and good verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills.
