Our Lady of Consolation is a proud member of Catholic Health and a recognized leader in providing exceptional quality driven care. We offer Long Term, Post-Acute and Skilled Nursing services. Our Lady of Consolation is located on the beautiful Great South Bay and is comprised of a 345-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center.  Our nurses, physicians and support staff are devoted to providing patient driven health care in an environment of compassion to our patients, their families and our community. Our focus is to create a culture of healing and safety while upholding our religious mission.

This position commands an individual that take the highest cadence of pride in what is crafted from the facilities kitchen.  Setting the standard of fresh, nutritious and visually appealing meals being served to our patients, residents and staff. The position works closely with our staff dieticians to assure dietary allergies, restrictions and religious needs are being met on a consistent basis.  

Responsibilities:

• Oversight of the facility kitchen
• Crafting, following and producing meals and desserts according to recipe
• Quality control of trays and meals leaving the kitchen for service
• Educating culinary staff on best practice to keep meals appealing and to temp
• Assure all kitchen staff are utilizing proper food handling and storage practices
• Acting as culinary supervisor in their absence
• Manage and direct line cooks
• Monitor stock and check quality of ingredients
• Work with food service associate on proper and efficient ordering
• Manage porter and dishwashers on proper sanitation methods
• Assure that tools, ingredients, products and resources are secured for coming meals

Requirements:

• Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques.
• Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well prepared and visually appealing meals to our patients and residents.
• Ability to lead and motivate staff

The pay for this position ranges from $ 27.00 - 33.00 per hour

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
