Job Overview
Performs the duties necessary to repair and maintain assorted heavy equipment mainly all types of Generators. Responsible for the care of the equipment and tools necessary to perform such work. Keeps Lead and Supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
WCFSI is a great company to work for. This position has a competitive wage of $40.68 per hour, along with $7.00 per hour toward health and welfare and $5.32 per hour into the Union Central Pension (Both capped at 40 Hrs per week). There are 11 paid holidays, and PTO starting at 10 hours per month. There is a contract year clothing allowance of $380.00 for protective clothing and/or ANSI compliant safety shoes, available after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains emergency generators and power equipment.
- Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair both gas/diesel engines.
- Replaces defective engines and transmissions.
- Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
- Performs most complex and unusual tasks of the craft without craft supervision.
- Tests equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Works and assists other crafts and trades in their day-to-day operations.
- Works from OEM manuals both book and DVD form, drawings, models, and verbal or written instructions.
- Respond to emergency situations during or after hours, holidays and weekends for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns. Be available on-call within one hour, after the Governments request to respond to after-hours requests. Must be able to work overtime as required.
Mandatory:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
- Ability to perform smoke emission test; obtain an EPA Method 9 Smoke Opacity certification in six (6) months.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License without a major violation or three or more incidents in the past 36 months. (WA license must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
- Communicate, both orally and in writing, in the English language.
- Four (4) verifiable years as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with three (3) years at a journeymen level.
- A commitment to be on-call 24 hours/7 days on a rotational basis with a 1-hour response time requirement.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check, drug test, and physical as required.
- Basic knowledge of computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of emergency generator connections.
