Position Title: Accounts Payable/Receivable & Travel Coordinator
Location: Seward (preferred) or Anchorage, AK office.

The Organization
The Chugach Regional Resources Commission (CRRC) is a nonprofit intertribal fish and wildlife commission serving seven member Tribes located in the Chugach Region of Southcentral Alaska. The position will be located at CRRC’s Alutiiq Pride Marine Institute (APMI) in Seward, AK, though Anchorage may be considered. CRRC is dedicated to addressing environmental and natural resources issues affecting its member Tribes.
Position Description
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Accounts Payable/Receivable & Travel Coordinator position is responsible for proper recordkeeping for all revenue and expenses and obtaining approvals and processing payments within organization policies and procedures. This position will also support travel arrangements and processing for CRRC staff, board members, contractors, and subcontractors. The position will communicate with all levels and areas of the organization to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Code and process invoices, credit card charges, and payments in compliance with CRRC’s policies.
- Ensure proper approvals for invoices and file supporting documentation.
- Process payments to vendors via check or EFT.
- Reconcile credit card accounts.
- Oversee review, approval, tracking, and follow-up on sub-awardee and subcontractor invoices.
- Support grants accounting by gathering backup documentation for invoicing.
Accounts Receivable
- Record and code revenue in the general ledger.
- Enter all cash receipts, applying them to receivables as appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining the accounts receivable aging schedule.
- Monitor and manage bank accounts for ACH transfers.
- Assist in preparing invoices for contracts in line with funder requirements.
- Ensure that restrictions on contributions are properly tracked.
- Serve as backup to the primary payroll enterer by assisting with bi-weekly payroll processing as needed, ensuring time reporting is complete and approved according to CRRC’s policies.
- Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries in coordination with the primary payroll staff.
Travel Coordination
- Assist staff with travel arrangements and per diem reimbursement requests.
- Process travel accounting forms and receipts.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for CRRC staff, board members, contractors, and subcontractors.
Other Duties
- Support the annual audit process.
- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and systems.
- Provide other financial support as assigned by the Finance Director.
- Contribute to the development of tracking systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
Educational Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, business management/administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to demonstrate sound judgment.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with accounting software or processes (AccuFund preferred).
- Ability to adapt to change and work under business pressures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with various levels of the organization.
