Description
The basic role of the Event Manager is execute the plans for banquets developed by the group sales department. This position coordinates, monitors and supervises the banquet functions, meeting rooms and any other group events which would include setup and teardown, refreshing of meeting rooms, delivering breaks and cleaning of the meeting areas.
This is a full time position requiring availability during the week as well as on weekends and holidays.
Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
· Ensure event space is presented as sold to the guest
· Assign duties and investigate concerns while providing corrective action if needed.
· Oversee safe use of supplies and equipment.
· Report damages and losses to appropriate departments for necessary action or adjustments.
· Ongoing training along with evaluating progress.
· Inventory control, provide suggestions and implement new concepts, ideas, and policies.
· Monitor productivity and reach sound resolutions to achieve guest satisfactions.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
The ability to work with other people effectively and with other staff positions is important. Must be able to follow instructions to learn position. Have a good attitude toward job as well as guests. Must always appear professional, polite, concerned, with best guest interest in mind.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
*Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Have full use of eyes and ears, full power of speech.

Walking, turning head and torso, bending arms, wrists, and fingers.
Mental Requirements:
Mathematics:
Must be able to do routine math calculations.
Language:
Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, well enough to give instructions, relay information, and carry on effective interchange with customers, vendors, and company staff. Bilingual in Spanish is helpful but not required.
