Job Summary:
Chulita, a Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognized modern Mexican restaurant, is seeking a passionate and talented individual to join our team as AGM. In this role, you will create unforgettable dining experiences by providing exceptional food and showcasing our unique Alta-California-style cuisine along with vibrant mezcal and tequila selections. You'll play a key role in fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of our neighborhood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of previous AGM experience in full service, high volume & fine dining settings
- A desire to for personal growth alongside a dynamic and growing restaurant group
- Have a coaching mentality and a passion for creating positive minded individuals and an effective and productive team that adheres to company culture and standards
- Focus on the details including quality of food & drinks, safety and sanitation and service timing and efficiency
- Address problems and be solution oriented
- Understand our technologies and care about accuracy - (Toast POS, Office, 7 Shifts, Resy)
- Understand and analyze the P&L, strong financial accumen
- Have an active ServSafe Management Food Safety Certificate
- Flexible and open availability is required, reliable transportation required
- Perform routine line checks throughout the day to ensure the quality of all menu items
- Work with the GM and Chef to maintain and update recipe books regularly
- Conduct audits of restaurant areas and staff to ensure compliance with health codes
- Assist with FOH staff scheduling to optimize efficiency
- Facilitate effective communication between the Front of House (FOH) and BOH regarding food production, timing, special requests, and needs
- Partner with GM and management to recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop FOH staff as needed
- Lead by example, fostering a positive work environment and setting a high standard for the hourly staff
- Adhere to all food safety regulations, including labeling, time and temperature controls, and maintaining staff hygiene standards
- Follow safety and emergency protocols to ensure the well-being of staff, guests, and property
- Stay informed on industry trends, particularly sustainability practices, and maintain a strong understanding of current developments
- Be flexible with working hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
Qualifications Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of applicable AGM experience
- Previous high volume & fine dining experience strongly preferred
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work collaboratively and effectively while handling multiple projects on various timelines in an extremely fast-paced environment
- Self-starter, detail-oriented and able to work well independently
- Strong guest drive and dedication to quality, consistency and hospitality driven
- Strong project management, communication, prioritization and feedback skills
- Flexible with work hours, reliable transportation and able to work onsite
- Strong acumen for the food industry, analytical thinking skills and a strong and dedicated work ethic are required
Technical Skills
- High level of proficiency of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Project Management)
- Ability to maintain compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ability to supervise, train and motivate multiple levels of employees. Ability to assess/evaluate other employees’ performance in a fair and consistent manner.
- Basic knowledge of revenue management. Participation in the development of short- and long-term financial and operational goals of the restaurants.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours in length.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
