Senior Payroll Systems Analyst

Overview

The Senior Payroll Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of our payroll system and compliance with payroll regulations. Demonstrates knowledge and proven extensive experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) or equivalent payroll system.

This role and its function are part of the Accounting shared services model. A Team Member in a shared service structure, works within a dedicated business unit (including people, processes, and technologies) that is structured as a centralized point of service and is focused on defined business functions. These units typically serve multiple business groups enterprise wide, and typically have established Service Level Agreements.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, serves as a liaison with other functional areas (Information Technology, Finance, and Human Resources), external vendors, and consultants for the core Payroll system. Works closely with these teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and system integrations.
• Oversees the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the UKG payroll system to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing.
• Configures and tests upgrades within the application to meet changing business and technology needs.
• Manages end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Analyzes payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
• Addresses and resolves payroll system issues and Team Member inquiries promptly
• Troubleshoots and resolves system issues, working with IT and software vendors as necessary.
• Generates and analyzes payroll reports for management, internal audits, and external audits.
• Ensures payroll operations comply with federal, state, and local laws, including tax filings and reporting.
• Provides training, support, and mentoring to payroll administrators and end-users on the UKG system including technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance. Develops and maintains system documentation, including user guides and training materials.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements best practices in payroll systems management.
• Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in data management and security related to payroll systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Five years of experience in payroll processing, with at least three years specializing in UKG or equivalent payroll systems.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
• Understanding of, and compliance with, a variety of regulations, laws, controls, and policies.
• Proficiency in system configuration, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced proficiency in computers, including Microsoft Office and HRIS database applications, email, and Internet. 
• Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
