What you’ll be doing:
You will create and develop functional specifications for multiple platforms and software that play a crucial role in ensuring our applications meet the needs of our customers and provide a seamless user experience. Use your strong business and technical fundamental skills to build relationships, effectively elicit and document complete requirements, think critically to solve problems and work toward a shared business outcome. Work with application developers and quality assurance personnel to ensure the business need is documented, implemented, and tested while keeping in alignment with IT standards. Lead the documentation of specifications along with needed performance, scalability, and availability of applications. Coach and mentor less experienced staff.
On any given day, you’ll:
Essential Functions
- Create/develop business requirements and functional specifications for multiple platforms and software.
- Lead the design of application flow to automate business processes and meet business needs.
- Work with application developers by translating business requirements into functional requirements.
- Work with application quality assurance personnel to ensure testing needs are met for the requirements.
- Lead the documentation of needed performance, scalability, and availability of applications.
- Lead the team in Agile methodology ceremonies (scrum master).
- Create mockups or wireframes along with business partners to convey application intent.
- Ability to analyze data and user feedback to identify trends and areas for continuous improvement.
- Coach and mentor less experienced staff.
Necessary Knowledge and Abilities:

Here’s what we expect
- 6 years’ experience in a Business / Functional Analyst role, with working knowledge of information systems, business operations, requirements, and integration/design solutions.
- Preferably as part of a Customer Experience (Customer Portal) type IT application team.
- Related insurance industry experience required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g., business, finance, or technical) or equivalent experience required.
**This is a HYBRID position that requires 2 days per week IN the office and can be based in:
- Milwaukee, WI
