Position Summary:
The Law Offices of Church, Page & Gailan are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation process, from pre-trial investigation and discovery to trial and appeal. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, experience in legal research, the ability to draft legal documents, and an thorough understanding of the local, state, and federal rules of civil procedure. We would require this individual to work out at either Yakima or Kennewick office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and depositions
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses
- Conduct legal research and compile data relevant to cases
- Manage case files, documents, and databases to ensure accurate and timely case progression
- Coordinate and schedule interviews, depositions, expert witnesses, and court appearances
- Summarize depositions, witness statements, and medical records
- File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies
- Monitor and manage deadlines, including court dates and filing requirements
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all legal and ethical standards
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, in a law firm or corporate legal department (A combination of experience and education may be considered)
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and litigation processes
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and case management software
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program Preferred
- Experience in personal injury
- Familiarity with e-discovery tools and processes
- Notary Public certification is a plus
