What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Conversions Laborer position at Churchill Downs Racetrack?
FUNCTION
The Conversions Laborer performs a multitude of physical tasks needed to set, changeover, and maintain the overall look of Churchill Downs Racetrack.
This is a seasonal job from March 2025 to mid July 2025.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for event setup as it pertains to Churchill Downs equipment and furniture.
- Performs setups throughout the facility by moving furniture such as stacks of chairs, various sizes of tables, and other items individually or on a cart designed to move multiple pieces at one time.
- Setup, strike, and reset rooms and areas around Churchill Downs Racetrack.
- Maintain, move, and keep inventory of Churchill Downs furniture and commodities such as tables, chairs, stanchions, pipe and drape, signage, and other items as assigned.
- Move and set bike racks.
- Move and set Churchill Downs wristband boxes.
- Temporary signage placement when necessary.
- Ability and willingness to become forklift certified.
- Ability to work weekends and different hours during our racing season.
- Ability to assist in maintaining our off-site warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
G.E.D. or High school diploma; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess a valid driver’s license and submit successfully to a DMV and background check.
