Job Responsibilities
- Support current operational objectives and future initiatives.
- Develop project plans, direct, and participate in the implementation of infrastructure and services network, directory services, storage services and telecommunication systems.
- Manage and participate in incident response, escalation coverage and root-cause resolution in support of business systems and infrastructure.
- Manage and develop technical staff, using standard performance evaluations, personal development plans, coaching and mentorship.
- Develop team skillsets, providing opportunities to grow and expand roles and responsibilities.
- Assist with the development of infrastructure budgets and forecasts while continuously seeking to optimize operational spend.
- Manage the infrastructure lifecycle from acquire, run, maintain, through end-of-life.
- Implement instrumentation, automation and standardization which makes the platform as self-sustaining and self-healing as possible and brings all problems to the forefront as soon as symptoms are observed.
- Manage infrastructure monitoring to provide actionable alerts and information while minimizing noise.
- Perform capacity planning to provide scalable and high-performing systems which meet business objectives.
- Manage deployment of and administration of hardware, services, systems, and software, ensuring all equipment and systems meet operational and security objectives.
- Research, design and document network and equipment standards for use at headquarters, branch offices and jobsites.
- Ensure documentation and diagrams of existing infrastructure and team processes are current and regularly updated.
- Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, procedures, audits, and enhancements.
- Manage backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, including periodical failover tests of core business systems to secondary systems.
- Ensure that all established change management processes are followed by the team.
- Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for network infrastructure including devices, servers, services, and their dependencies.
- Participate in security operations, incident response, and systems configurations in support of the information security team.
- Stay current on IT developments through education, research, certification, professional publications, peer networks and/or professional organizations.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
- Certifications a plus: CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, Network , Azure, etc.
- 10 Years relevant experience, with 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Excellent leadership abilities, able to collaborate and facilitate with diverse teams, stakeholders, and staff to optimally accomplish objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Ability to set and manage priorities in response to rapidly evolving circumstances.
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities with the ability to think outside the box and rapidly isolate problems.
- Experience in managing large enterprise infrastructure and datacenters.
- Familiar with industry best practices and design patterns.
- We are looking for broad experience with technologies including server virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, Windows Server, DR, Azure administration and governance, AD/AAD, M365 Administration, TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, firewalls, WLAN, VLAN, SDN, ZTNA, VOIP, application delivery, SQL server maintenance, cloud file services, print services, server deployments, systems hardening, powershell management, and configuration management.
- Understanding of modern service and infrastructure architectures.
- Ability to manage a CMDB and use it to manage infrastructure, identify points of weakness and facilitate managed changes.
