As the Procurement Manager at Cibao Meat Products, you will oversee purchasing across the entire company and manage a substantial budget for needs ranging from production equipment to raw materials to office supplies.

A SNAPSHOT OF THE FIRST 12 MONTHS MAY INCLUDE :
Within the first 45 days :
- Gains a comprehensive understanding of the current suppliers and begins to develop relationships with blue chip suppliers.
- Learns to navigate internal software to consolidate purchase orders and monitor KPIs, interpret
inventory numbers, and manage inventory information.
such as letters of warranty or Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for all purchased items.
insight into procedures for those purchases over $50k.
By 3 months and ongoing :
participates in budgeting & financial analysis related to procurement activities.
standard quality and packaging before finalizing partnerships.
the QC department.
expenditure management with an aim to streamline processes.
By 6 months and ongoing :
procurement and aims for substantial annual savings of $600-$700k.
optimizations for the role, and introduces 1-2 new initiatives on reporting and staff training.
five main raw material categories (meat, seasoning, casings, corrugated cartons, and labels).
By 12 months and ongoing :
management is optimized by year-end, including implementing real-time inventory counts for
accuracy and reporting efficiency.
tracks 5-10% savings across all components by the end of the year.
in potential acquisitions that align with the operations.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :
5 years of progressive experience in a procurement or supply chain department within the food
industry required
In-depth knowledge of quality control, regulatory compliance requirements, and food safety
regulations including FDA and USDA required
Bachelor’s degree in finance, supply chain management, business administration or related field
required
Masters’ degree highly preferred in business administration (MBA), supply chain management, logistics,
or related field highly preferred
Strategic thinking with a focus on inventory control and management required
Technical knowledge of ERP platforms required
Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and supplier
relationship management in the food industry required
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of
individuals required
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to inspire others and build strong relationships
required
Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
Strong foundation in Latin American foods and culture highly preferred
CSCP, CPSM, CPIM, or Lean Six Sigma certifications a plus
Experience in a family-owned company a plus
