What You’ll Be Doing
The US Capital Markets Business Management group provides direct day-to-day support and coverage for CIBC’s US Capital Markets business. The group’s primary role is to assist in achieving the mandate to be a premier client-focused global bank. The US Capital Markets Business Management group serves as the primary liaison between the Capital Markets business and their supporting infrastructure groups as well as their internal and external vendors, brokers and suppliers. The US Capital Markets Business Management also strives to ensure a sound control environment and provides sound advice in support of business strategy.
This Director level role on the Business Management team supports the US Corporate Banking and Investment Banking revenue generating businesses.

How You’ll Succeed
The role will primarily be responsible for the following:
Provide recurring and ad-hoc management reporting covering financials, governance, regulatory, risk and operations
Oversee end-to-end business processes and controls including pipeline management, exposure reporting, risk appetite, transaction highlights, deal files, systems entitlements, market data and records retention
Act as the first line of defense and ensure a strong control environment with adherence to policies and procedures to help mitigate risks to the US Corporate Banking business. Take lead on internal audit reviews and controls testing partnership with in-business risk and controls teams
Who You Are
5–10 years of experience in Financial Services, Capital Markets, Corporate Banking and/or Investment Banking
Demonstrated financial analysis and credit/risk experience
Understanding of full lifecycle of corporate lending products and portfolio management
Formal credit training is a plus
Direct experience working within a Corporate & Investment Banking business, preferably in a Business Manager capacity
Experience leading projects with multiple infrastructure team stakeholders including Compliance, Legal, Risk, IT, Operations and Finance
Familiarity with the capital markets regulatory, legal and compliance environment
Highly motivated, self-starter; able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment, with limited management oversight
Ability to execute tasks under aggressive targets and effectively manage to changes in plan
Excellent organizational skills with a good attention to detail
Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e., Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of USD$140,000– USD$175,000 for the New York, New York market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave, and Vacation), Holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
