Dining Room Manager | Front of House Manager| Job Description

Purpose:
To ensure the efficient and effective operation of the dining room and related areas during all resident mealtimes and to oversee and monitor the performance of the dining room team members.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years food service experience, including 3 years of previous dining room management.
• Previous experience in both restaurant and senior living settings preferred.
• Must have a strong commitment to customer service and desire to exceed customer expectations.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, team members and vendors.
• Must have basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
• Must meet all health-related and/or food handling requirements pertaining to local or state regulatory agencies.
• Must maintain current CPR/First Aid credentials
• Must maintain current Food Handlers credentials
• Must maintain annual Continuing Education Credits
• Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Subject to pre-employment screening including physical, drug and TB testing and criminal background check.
 

Essential Functions:

Management
• Hires, trains, directs, coaches, and evaluates all dining room team members and assists the DSD with the back of the house hiring and training.
• Develops and trains all dining room team members on service essentials and company standards of service ensuring exemplary customer satisfaction.
• Ensures excellence in satisfaction through commitment to a "Do Whatever It Takes Attitude".
• Is an active participant and regularly serves a section in the Dining Room.
• Creates and monitors dining room team member schedules and makes daily task assignments to ensure efficient and effective meal service in all dining locations throughout the community.
• Ensures that all dining room personnel maintain a strong customer service focus and are consistently professional in conduct and appearance.
• Ensure exceptional administration of policies & programs through training, communications, and procedure documentation. Conducts training and informational update meetings for all dining room team members.
• Responsible for operating dining room within budgetary guidelines
• Maintains knowledge base of current OSHA, as well as local and state regulatory agency guidelines to ensure that the dining room service maintains regulatory compliance with all regulations.
• Serves as a member of the Community Management Team and assists Executive Director with other management duties as necessary or as assigned.

Dining Room Operation
• Responsible for training dining room team members so they possess knowledge of the menu paying special attention to alternative dietary options and allergies.
• Ensures that all dining and kitchen service areas are clean and organized and that all equipment such as reach-in
refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, soup tureens, and beverage machines are cleaned on a daily basis.
• Creates and implements a dining room cleaning schedule, assigning team member duties to ensure that carpet, tables, chairs, and salad bar are properly cleaned after each meal, and prepared for the next meal in a timely manner.
• Ensures that proper serving etiquette is maintained, and that food is attractively presented.
• Enforces safe food handling technique at all times.
• Responsible for the Private Dining Room schedule ensuring all reservations are properly staffed and that the meal plan has been properly communicated to the Director of Signature Dining
• Routinely assists with meal service as needed.
• Communicates frequently with residents, families, guests, and team members, to address concerns and suggestions relating to the food service program, and to maintain resident satisfaction.
• In conjunction with Life Engagement Director and/or Community Relations Director assists in planning and serving at community special events, parties, and marketing functions.

Other
• Attends all required team member meetings and in-service training sessions.
• Upholds Residents’ Rights as defined by state regulations and by Company policy, at all times.
• Supports and upholds all other Company policies, and the service philosophy.
• Reliable and predictable attendance
• Other duties as assigned.

Starting Salary Range $27.50 - $32.00 per hour
