Physical Education/Health Teacher at K-8 Dual Language School

Job Description

Cien Aguas International School seeks a full-time, highly qualified Elementary School Teacher for a 90/10 Dual Language school. Candidates must be bilingual and bi-literate in both English and Spanish. The position is available for the 2025-2026 school year.

License Requirements: Current NMPED Elementary K-8 Teaching license with endorsements in Physical Education, Health, TESOL required. Bilingual endorsement preferred as well. Preferred to be Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.

Duties and Responsibilities

• *Contributes to student learning, growth, and advancement.
• *Demonstrates academic competence in subject area(s), and displays an inclination for developing integrated and interdisciplinary work across the curriculum in Health and Physical Education.
• *Designing, developing, and delivering quality curricula and activities that adhere to national and school guidelines including Physical Education standards and the Rights, Respect, Responsibility Curriculum.
• *Maintains a growth mindset toward student learning, teaching practice, and personal/collective professional development.
• *Demonstrates a high degree of self-efficacy; holds themselves accountable for learner outcomes and advocates for their students; works efficiently; and believes in their ability, the capability of their students, and themselves to succeed and excel.
• *Facilitates problem-solving, with a curious mind and critical thinking skills, showing a high degree of creative application in the implementation of data-driven curriculum and practice with regard to health and wellness.
• *Serves as a role model and an innovative and creative learner with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, personal growth, and being on the cutting edge of instructional practice and pedagogy in health and wellness.
• *Looks beyond the walls of the classroom and demonstrates global competence and how their work will expand the impact of students' work to their families and local and global communities.

• *Recognizes the relationship between physical activity and wellness with social-emotional learning and academic performance, and aspires toward developing and teaching the whole child.

• *Drawing up suitable assessments and delivering helpful feedback to students, parents, and other teachers.
• *Establishing classroom rules and procedures and ensuring that all students play safe, cooperate, understand what is expected of them.
• *Setting up demonstrations, guest speakers, and experiences.
• *Providing extra resources, differentiation, support, and interventions for students who are struggling.
• *Grading, updating records, and handling various administrative tasks.
• *Creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, adding their input, voicing concerns and taking risks.
• *Participating in other school activities and regularly communicating with parents.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $58,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
