Position Summary :
The Senior Director is responsible for and contributes to the creation, execution, launch and management of the Specialty Drug Management program within the PBM Product team at Express Scripts. This role will play a critical function of coordinating and developing all aspects of the new offering. Individual must influence cross-functional partners and senior leadership across the organization, gaining alignment and support for the new Specialty Drug management offering. The individual needs to have deep understanding of the PBM payer perspective, industry trends, specialty pharmacy, and the overall PBM business. Individual will need financial, business, and data acumen.
Individual must serve as an internal and external / front-facing PBM subject matter expert for the purposes of client or consultant meetings, external conferences, finalists, or other speaking engagements requiring the need to communicate Express Scripts product offerings and differentiators.
In collaboration with Marketing and Sales Enablement, the Senior Director will lead the development of strong thought leadership strategies and go-to-market strategies.
In its current capacity, the Senior Director will be expected to manage one Principal directly, one Sr Advisor indirectly, and at least 4 cross-functional band 4 employees including finance, data analytics, and marketing. As the team responsible for the management and evolution of the specialty PBM product grows, individual will be expected to have the capacity to manage a growing team and possess the potential to expand scope to fit the needs of the business.
Essential Functions :
- Influence decision makers across the entire organization including the Senior Leadership and cross-functional partners to drive the vision and purpose of the Specialty Drug Management approach.
- Directly and indirectly, lead team members responsible PBM product design, launch, execution, and evolution of PBM product(s).
- Responsible for product portfolio performance, inclusive of key KPIs and financials, also minimizing and mitigating business risks.
- Improve clinical and financial outcomes to achieve strategic goals of the product.
- Assist in developing and maintaining competitive market view on product against other offerings available and craft strategies to ensure market leadership position.
- Accountable for future state, solution updates, and corresponding roadmap.
- Ability to lead discussions on strategic initiatives and growth opportunities. Drives cross-functional level strategies. Anticipates potential changes and adjusts strategies accordingly.
- Address necessary escalations and identify paths for resolution.
- Utilizes Express Scripts’ multiple data analytics programs and tools to monitor and identify product opportunities.
- Provides this information to Managing Director or other leadership across the organization.
- Effectively participates in, and contributes to, staff meetings, committees and departmental work groups to share best practices, improve processes, and / or other items relating to provider engagement.
- Participates and contributes in formal and informal training programs and professional development activities which may include taking, developing, and / or conducting sessions.
- Builds a diverse and effective team by optimizing capacity, creating flexibility, thoughtful planning and performance management.
- Builds constructive and effective relationships across the company. Shares ideas across teams and influences go to market strategies.

Qualifications :

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 173,900 - 289,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
