What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tekla Steel Detailer position at Cimarron Software?
Cimarron is seeking Tekla Steel Detailers to support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The ML2 will be used, like the first mobile launcher, as the platform for assembling and testing the Space Launch System (SLS) in the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center, transporting the rocket to Launch Complex 39B, and supporting the vehicle’s launch. The platform includes various interfaces for fueling the rocket, providing power and data, and a crew access arm. This opportunity is supporting a 4-month contract.

Key Duties:
- Prepare layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings.
- Prepare or assist with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
- Monitor and check work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
- Prepare design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.
- Coordinate or visit job sites, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
- Review or define engineering scope changes, as required, for project management.
- Endorse or prepare reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use.
- Maintain up-to-date skills in computer system applications relevant to design work.
- Support the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Support the development of work plans and schedules for the assigned work, including an estimate of material quantities, design deliverables, and staffing needs to meet the project milestones.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
- 1 or more years of related experience.
- Experience with Tekla for modeling and steel detailing.
- Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline’s design responsibilities.
- Knowledge of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes relevant to the discipline.
- Knowledge of discipline Design Guides, mathematical formulae, and design calculations used in the discipline.
- Knowledge of technical responsibilities of other groups associated with the total design effort.
- Knowledge of procedures used for the procurement and quantity control of bulk materials applicable to the discipline.
- Knowledge of BSAPs applicable to the specific discipline work.
- Broad knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, drawing checking, graphic arts, 2-D and 3-D CAD, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods.
- Bachelor's degree or Associate degree that includes specialized courses in drafting, design, engineering, and practices of CAD.
