Description

Job Summary:

Assist in managing daily activities of CABVI Manufacturing to ensure goals and objectives are achieved, and with the intent of creating, sustaining, and growing employment opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired. Utilize available systems and standards to drive high productivity. Engage employees through open communication and information sharing allowing for in-put into continuous improvement. Assist with inventory counts and valuations on a monthly and year-end basis and with maintaining accurate finished goods inventory throughout the year. Ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and secure environment

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the organization and coordination of the daily production activities of the various CABVI product lines with the goal of exceeding our customer’s expectations.
  • Coordinates daily and weekly personnel schedules, work assignments and the balancing of labor hours across functions based on production needs.
  • Actively utilizes key metrics, data, and established production standards to achieve and exceed expected levels of production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
  • Identifies and recommends cost controls and other improvements to the production process.
  • Tracks and measures productivity at all levels of IP production as assigned.
  • Monitors operations and recommends corrective actions as necessary.
  • Assists the Director of Manufacturing in determining the labor needs to meet production goals. Assists with training and coordination of training of all production personnel. Ensures that company policies and procedures are adhered to by all applicable associates at all times.
  • Adheres to plant safety policy and procedures and works with CABVI facilities personnel to ensure that all established safety protocols are met and that any necessary safety drills are carried out as required.
  • Ensures that all CABVI manufacturing personnel are trained on CABVI procedures and policy
  • Provides supervisory support as assigned by the Director of Manufacturing. Provides Director of Manufacturing with timely and constructive feedback for product line team evaluations, assists with development opportunities, coaching moments and mentoring as needed or requested.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree is preferred.
  • At least three - five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations including familiarity with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently desired.
  • Experience working with visually impaired individuals is desired, but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and lead a team.
  • Multitasking & time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
  • Ability to allocate resources effectively and efficiently to fully realize optimal results.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues.
