Job Summary:
"We are seeking a skilled Architectural Drafter to join our collaborative team, focusing on the creation of detailed drawings for custom stair and handrail projects. This role is crucial in translating design concepts into precise, manufacturable plans using AutoCAD 2025, Bluebeam, SketchUp, EnRoute, and Excel. Responsibilities:
● Generate Detailed Drawings:
○ Create accurate and detailed architectural drawings for stairs and handrails, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, using AutoCAD 2025.
○ Develop shop drawings for fabrication and installation.
○ Produce as-built drawings as needed.
● 3D Modeling and Visualization:
○ Create 3D models of stair and handrail designs using AutoCAD 2025.
○ Finalize and publish renderings using SketchUp and Sketchfab.
● Software Proficiency:
○ Utilize Bluebeam for drawing publishing, architectural drawing review, and markups.
○ Produce detailed fabrication drawings and CNC files using EnRoute.
○ Use Excel to produce cut sheets for the production of wood stairs.
● Team Collaboration:
○ Collaborate with designers, sales staff, fabricators, and installers to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
○ Participate in design review meetings.
○ Utilize Monday.com for project management and team communication.
● Code Compliance:
○ Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and ADA requirements.
○ Stay up-to-date on changes to building codes and regulations.
● Material and Fabrication Knowledge:
○ (Recommended) Familiarity with material specifications for stairs and handrails (e.g., wood, metal, glass).
○ (Recommended) Familiarity with stair and handrail fabrication processes.
● Site Measurements:
○ Perform field measurements as needed to ensure accuracy of drawings.
● Standards Development:
○ Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental design standards.
○ Research and recommend best practices for drafting and design.
● Block Library Management:
○ Assist in the expansion and organization of the department's block library.
○ Create and maintain standardized blocks and details.
● Process Improvement:
○ Suggest and implement improvements to the drafting workflow.
● Project Documentation:
○ Maintain organized project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and revisions.
○ Keep accurate records of all project related changes.
● File Management:
○ Maintain organized digital files.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
● Associate's degree in Architecture or two (2 ) years of experience with CAD.
● Proficiency in AutoCAD 2025.
● Experience using Bluebeam for drawing publishing, architectural drawing review, and markups.
● Experience using SketchUp for 3D modeling.
● Basic understanding of Excel.
● Strong understanding of architectural drafting principles, particularly related to stair and handrail design.
● Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
● Excellent attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills.
● Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints.
● Experience using Monday.com or similar project management software.
