Adjunct Instructor (in-person instruction) - Academic English as a Second Language (ESL)
Overview : The Instructor of English as a Second Language (ESL) will provide instruction as part of Cincinnati State's developmental courses for English Language Learners (ELLs). The Academic ESL instructor will support all facets of the language-learning environment to provide optimal student access and encourage interaction. They will participate in curriculum development and coordinate with the chair of the Language Learning Department. Classes will be held in person at Cincinnati State's Clifton Campus.
Essential Functions :
- Plan and prepare course materials and lessons based upon department guidelines, learner feedback, and student needs.
- Teach ESL to adult learners enrolled at the college.
- Regularly assess students' English-language learning needs and goals through in-class engagement and dialogue with learners.
- Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in an academic setting.
- Maintain student attendance and performance records as applicable.
- Other duties as assigned
