Job Summary:The Environmental Lab Technician Assistant provides essential support to the faculty and staff of the Co-op program. This role involves assisting in the preparation of lab classes, maintenance of laboratory equipment, and various other tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the program.
About the Role:
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to deliver excellent results. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with preparation of laboratory set-ups for EVT courses: Environmental Microbiology, Water and Wastewater Technology, Fluid Mechanics, Environmental Geology, Environmental Chemistry, Solid Waste Management, and Air Pollution Control
- Maintaining mineral and rock specimens, preparing groundwater model and aquifer yield demonstrations, setting up laboratory practicals
- Repairing and maintaining equipment, preparing and breaking down coolers, and setting up and breaking down scenarios
- Preparing and maintaining stack sampling equipment

- Computer skills general and field-specific
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong rapport with peers, faculty, and others
- Able to perform tasks in a professional manner
