In addition, when the family travels, the nanny will have an additional 2-4 weeks per year off and paid. The family will reimburse miles driven during the workday at the federal mileage rate. The family will guarantee pay at 15 hours/week, even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off, when the family vacations or ends a day early.

Children:
The family has three children – two daughters who are 8 and 3 years old and an infant son who is 4.5 months old. The position would primarily be for care for the baby, and some care for G3, on Mondays, until August. G3 attends a Kids Strong class on Monday mornings and the nanny will be asked to take her to this activity until the summer months.

G8 is empathetic and social; she thrives on structure and rules. As the firstborn, she enjoys being organized and participating in a variety of activities, often driven by her strong social connections. G8 has a sensitive and caring nature, which makes her highly empathetic and attuned to the feelings of others. She loves imaginative play and is an avid reader, particularly enjoying Harry Potter. Her active and curious mind is complemented by her enthusiasm for engaging in new experiences, whether at school, camps, or other structured environments. G8 is in 2nd grade and attends school from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., with Mom typically handling drop-offs. During the summer, she participates in camps.

G3 is energetic and spirited with a vibrant personality. She’s highly physically active, spending much of her time practicing gymnastics, playing ball, and engaging in imaginative play with Barbies and animals. Whether flipping on the bars in the basement or participating in structured activities, G3 thrives on movement and excitement. She is very verbal and talkative, confident and social, making friends easily wherever she goes. At school, she balances being a natural leader with the ability to follow directions, and she has strong opinions that reflect her growing independence. Currently, G3 attends preschool three mornings a week until 11:30 a.m., with plans to transition to full days in the fall.

B4mos has a sweet and easygoing personality. He’s a very smiley and chill baby who is rolling and make attempts at scooting. He recently started solids, and is enjoying it. B4mos is breastfed, and Mom plans to continue nursing him, which will be a couple of times during the day while nanny is working. B4mos’ daily routine follows an eat-play-sleep cycle, with wake windows of about 2-2.5 hours. He is easy to put down for naps. He currently takes three naps a day, each lasting about 40 minutes, though they are expected to lengthen as he grows. The family looks forward to enrolling him in 1-year-old music classes next year; he currently attends gymnastics and they are also open to suggestions for other enriching activities that suit his stage of development.

Family values:
This family values passion and a curiosity for the world, fostering a love for learning and personal growth. The parents are avid readers who encourage intellectual engagement. They maintain an active and busy lifestyle, prioritizing physical activity, outdoor adventures, and family-oriented connections. Having moved closer to extended family, they emphasize the importance of strong sibling bonds and nurturing family traditions. They instill routine, structure, and self-discipline in their children from a young age, focusing on consistent habits and setting clear expectations. Limiting screen time and avoiding social media are priorities, favoring a reasonable approach to healthy eating, exercise, and meaningful daily interactions. Summers are filled with outdoor activities like swimming and beach outings, while winters bring skiing trips and cozy movie nights. Evenings center around family dinners, discussions about the highs and lows of the day, followed by relaxing routines of baths, a show and reading before bedtime. The parents practice a gentle yet firm parenting approach, setting boundaries through clear communication and natural consequences. They value consistency, follow-through, and fostering a sense of accountability in their children. Mom works primarily from home, balancing a busy schedule while still available to nurse and pop in to see the kids during the day. Dad has more of a demanding schedule, including travel, and works from an offsight office. The parents find joy in watching their children discover the world, overcome challenges, and grow. They cherish the enriching experience of coming together as a full, vibrant family unit.

Duties include:
Basic care and clean up after children. Children’s laundry. Meal Prep. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, putting stuff away with the help of the older children, etc. Transportation to various classes and other fun activities. Unloading/loading the dishwasher only if there is time during naps.

Pets:
The family does not have any pets.

Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is seeking a professional, long-term nanny who possesses a strong combination of experience, skills, and personality traits to meet their needs. Ideally, the candidate should have experience working with infants and preschool-aged children, along with a dependable, team-oriented, and reliable nature. The family values someone who is active, fun, kind, and engaging, while also being nurturing, compassionate, and positive in their interactions with the children. A deep understanding of child development is essential, including the ability to respond appropriately to various behaviors and handle the challenges of different developmental stages. The nanny should be capable of providing fun, active, and creative activities both inside and outside the home to keep the children engaged and thriving. The family requires a 1-year commitment, but could see the role being needed for the decade if it is the right fit!
