JOB SUMMARY
This entry-level accounting position works in the Detail Audit section of Clerk’s Accounting . It audits receipts, transactions and various reports from the Odyssey Court system to verify that payment distributions align with the fee schedules implemented by the Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers Association (FCCC), County ordinances, administrative orders, and other legal guidance.
STARTING SALARY: $17.88 hourly/ $37,192 annually

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

- Reconciles accounting records.
- Prepares accounting and fiscal reports, statements, and summaries.
- Posts transactions and prepares journal entries.
- Inspects, reviews and/or maintains complex accounting/financial documents in compliance with agency and/or departmental rules and procedures.
- Performs audit review to ensure data entry accuracy of transactions.
- Provides training as requested.
- Communicates with departments and management as needed to resolve errors, requests, inquiries and concerns related to functional area of responsibility.
- Reviews receipts for compliance with fee distribution schedules. Notifies Court areas of errors and follows up appropriately for correction.
- Reconciles interfaces to cashiered transactions.
- Processes journal entries into the Oracle Cloud Financial system.
- Uploads documents to the OnBase imaging system.
- Prepares account and other financial reconciliations.
- Assists with system testing for upgrades, legislative changes, conversions or new implementations.
- Provides timely assistance to customers and other departments as needed.
- Participates in team activities and department projects as requested.
- Cross trains with other teams in the department as permitted.
- Performs other accounting duties as needed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from High School or a GED certificate. *Experience and/or an Associate Degree or higher degree (in any field) is appreciated but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects; may also require crouching, manual dexterity, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
