Experienced Veterinary Assistant Wanted
Cinema Veterinary Centre is looking for an enthusiastic experienced Veterinary Assistant. You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to our patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility while working alongside top notch Veterinarians and fantastic staff members. One of the most important Veterinary Assistant responsibilities is to ensure all areas are clean, for animals and humans alike. Along with the ability to offer fantastic customer service, we will rely on you to assist the Veterinarian in examinations, treatments and procedures. You will work with our wonderful clients, taking histories and going over treatment plans. Cinema Veterinary Centre is a small animal, 2 Doctor practice in the heart of Santa Clarita. Our patients include dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds and reptiles. We pride ourselves for outstanding customer and patient care. We practice a Fear Free environment and facilitate all staff to be certified in FF. We are looking for a team member who is kind, compassionate, conscientious, eager to learn and grow, loves being part of a team and of course hard working. We would love to meet you if you have at least 1 to 2 years Vet Assistant Experience, your CVA Certificate or currently in an RVT program.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals
- Experience in a customer service role is a plus
- Current or former pet ownership is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and caring personality
- Ability to follow instructions properly, team player
- Comfortable being around "different" animals (birds, reptiles, pocket pets etc.)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 40 lbs)
- Availability to occasionally work in tense or emergency situations
- High school diploma; a certificate from a Veterinary Assistant program
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 27 – 32 per week
